Musician Kid Rock said President Donald Trump’s meeting with talk show host Bill Maher “could not have been better.”
Maher recently hosted Kid Rock on his Club Random podcast, on which the musician urged Maher to be open to an invitation from the president for a meeting. Kid Rock then encouraged Trump to go through with the meeting despite Maher’s stark criticisms of him.
“We came to dinner, me, Bill, [UFC CEO] Dana White, and it could not have been better. Everyone was so surprised, so pleasant. The most shocking thing to me was Bill is obviously a big liberal and very hard on the president, he’s donated a lot of money to other politicians, you’ve had Biden, Clinton, Obama. He had never been to the White House. The president was gracious. Took us up to the private residence, saw the Gettysburg Address in the Lincoln Bedroom,” Kid Rock said on Fox News’s Fox and Friends Tuesday.
Kid Rock was in Washington, D.C., on Monday to be beside Trump as he signed an executive order for the Federal Trade Commission and the Department of Justice to increase enforcement of existing laws regarding the price gouging of event tickets.
“President Trump extending this olive branch. And we talked about things we had in common. You know, ending wokeness, securing the border. The president was asking him what he thought about policy going on with Iran and Israel and things. It blew my mind. I was very proud,” Kid Rock said.
The Washington Examiner reached the White House and a representative for Maher for comment. Neither Trump nor Maher has commented publicly on the meeting.

Kid Rock admitted that everyone was “suspect” of each other ahead of the dinner.
It remains to be seen how Maher’s coverage of Trump could change following the meeting. HBO renewed Real Time with Bill Maher last year for two seasons, which will last through 2026. Maher’s Club Random is produced by his podcast network, which was established last year in collaboration with Hollywood producers Chris Case and Chuck LaBella. The network also hosts the Sage Steele Show.
