Fireworks to return to Mount Rushmore for ‘amazing’ US 250th birthday: Burgum

.

Interior Secretary Doug Burgum detailed how fireworks will return to Mount Rushmore in time to be part of the nation’s 250th birthday, one of many major events being held to celebrate the nation’s landmark Fourth of July celebrations.

Burgum explained how celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States next year is a priority for President Donald Trump, and that the National Parks Service, which falls under the Interior’s jurisdiction, will play a pivotal role in this celebration. The Mount Rushmore fireworks, set to be held on July 3, 2026, is one of several events that will happen both on and around the Fourth of July next year.

“It’ll be more than a single day, but on that day, for sure, there’s going to be an incredible celebration right here,” Burgum stated on Fox News’s My View with Lara Trump while speaking to the show’s host at the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

Additionally, Burgum, who previously served as the governor of North Dakota, detailed how his state will celebrate the monumental birthday of the United States by opening the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library. He cited how Theodore Roosevelt, the nation’s 26th president, was “a leader in citizenship and conservation,” and that this is what the library is all about.

Roosevelt is one of four presidents whose face is part of Mount Rushmore, the others being George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Abraham Lincoln, the nation’s first, third, and 16th presidents, respectively. When asked about the possibility of adding Trump’s face to this national monument, Burgum stated there is “certainly” room to add the current president’s face.

SUSIE WILES SAYS LIFE EXPERIENCE HAS MADE DONALD TRUMP A ‘DIFFERENT PERSON’ AND ‘BETTER LEADER’

Shortly after Trump’s return to the White House, the president established Task Force 250 to prepare for the nation’s major birthday landmark. As part of these celebrations, Trump reinstated two executive orders: Building and Rebuilding Monuments to American Heroes, and Building the National Garden of American Heroes.

Last week, Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL) informed the Washington Examiner of his bill to establish Trump’s National Garden of American Heroes to honor American founders and trailblazers. On Facebook, the lawmaker said he was “proud” to support the president’s vision for the 250th birthday of the U.S.
