Whoopi Goldberg says Trump administration is in ‘cat box’ covering up Signal snafu

.

Whoopi Goldberg didn’t hold back when discussing the Trump administration‘s handling of the recent Signal chat scandal on Wednesday’s episode of The View.

She likened the situation of a journalist from the Atlantic, who was accidentally added to a military group chat with high-level Trump administration officials, to how a cat tries to cover up its mess after using a litter box.

“I’m going to start calling this ‘in the cat box,’” Goldberg said, adding, “Cause that’s what they’re doing.”

She continued, “They’re doing what cats do. When the cat uses the cat box, the cat [shuffles] like this and tries to cover it up, you know? Covers it all up.”

“So when you hear me say, ‘And now, a moment from our cat box,’ you’ll know what I mean and what’s about to unfold,” Goldberg added.

Jeffrey Goldberg, the Atlantic’s editor-in-chief, revealed in an article earlier this week that he had been accidentally added to a group chat that was discussing the Trump administration’s plan to bomb Houthi terrorists in Yemen.

While officials, including Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, insisted that “no classified material” was shared in the chat, Goldberg expressed her doubts.

“I’m no military expert,” the View co-host remarked, “but it kind of does sound a little classified to me.”

TRUMP SUSPECTS ‘INNOCENT STAFFER’ MAY HAVE BEEN AT FAULT FOR SIGNAL CHAT LEAK

Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin was “disappointed” in any coverage that defended the Trump administration over the Signal chat mishap.

“People who I know know better and who care about the safety of our troops [are] dismissing this as like, ‘Oh, it was just a text thread. We all make mistakes!’” she said. “This was clear as day.”
