Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) was among several speakers on a live stream to urge opposition to Tesla, revealing she wants Elon Musk “taken down” for her birthday later this month.
The livestream, conducted on Wednesday night, was held by a movement called Tesla Takedown, which is planning a day of protest against the electric vehicle manufacturer on March 29. Crockett claimed the protest against Tesla is a means “to yell and scream” at the public and those in charge.
“And I won’t hold you all, cause I know how much people love to listen to politicians, so I’ll make sure that I keep it short,” Crockett said at the start of her speech. “Starting with on March 29, it’s my birthday, and all I want to see happen on my birthday is for Elon to be taken down. Yes!”
She followed those remarks by calling for peaceful protests against Tesla, clarifying that she and her other demonstrators are “fighting for democracy” and that her use of the word fighting is meant to be figuratively speaking.
The footage of Crockett’s call for Musk to be taken down was shared on X, catching Musk’s attention, who responded, “Wow.”

Actor Alex Winter, perhaps best known for playing Bill in Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, claimed he was “appalled” when Musk “performed a Nazi salute” at President Donald Trump’s inauguration celebration in January, which was followed by Musk’s “all-out assault on our government.” He also claimed that Tesla has been “permanently tarnished” ever since Musk’s hand gesture and his work via the Department of Government Efficiency.
Musk has condemned critics for claiming he performed a Nazi salute, suggesting they need better “dirty tricks.” He has also threatened to sue Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) after the governor claimed the billionaire “of course” performed a Nazi salute.

Fellow actor John Cusack called Musk a villain of “late-stage capitalism.” Like Winter, he has accused Musk of performing a Nazi salute on Jan. 20, and argued that, “like Trump, Musk is a pathological liar, he is a criminal, he is a sociopath, and a ghoul.”
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt stated Thursday on Fox News’s The Faulkner Focus that Trump condemns the violent acts against Tesla dealerships, warning that the severest punishments will be carried out against the vandals. She added “the Trump Derangement Syndrome is on full display” with these acts of vandalism, and thanked Attorney General Pam Bondi for investigating these attacks.
