Singer Gwen Stefani’s praise for a recent interview by The Chosen actor Jonathan Roumie has not settled well with some of her more liberal fans, specifically how he conducted the interview with Tucker Carlson.
Roumie, who plays Jesus Christ in the increasingly popular series, appeared as a guest on Carlson’s show on March 5 to kick off the season of Lent. During their discussion, the two discussed Roumie’s feelings on playing Jesus, the Catholic actor’s views on Lent, along with how The Chosen has “exploded” in popularity among viewers, with their hour-and-a-half discussion drawing Stefani’s attention and praise.
“Wow @JonathanRoumie u r a powerful inspirational human what an what an enlightening intelligent beautiful interview thank you for being u gx,” Stefani wrote on X.

However, some of her left-leaning fans did not hold the same feelings, with some even accusing her of becoming “a right wing grifter.” Another user claimed he knew Stefani was “a right wing grifter” when she promoted the Hallow prayer app for Christmas last year.

Other users, meanwhile, praised the Stefani for her post and her “celebration of your faith,” encouraging her to ignore the criticism she received. Stefani was raised Catholic.
Stick to your faith and whatever it is you draw strength from, whether it’s God, family, music, or all three. The weak and fragile ones will always try to tear you down.

GREAT AMERICAN FAMILY INCREASES PRESSURE ON YOUTUBE TV TO CARRY CONTENT
The wife of country singer Blake Shelton most recently promoted the Hallow prayer app earlier this month, in which she encouraged other users to download the app to join her in praying during this holy season. Besides Roumie, the app also features prayers from actors Mark Wahlberg, who is Catholic, and Chris Pratt, who is Christian.
Hallow has gained attention in recent years, releasing a commercial during the 2024 Super Bowl that featured Wahlberg and Roumie to join them as they prayed during Lent season. Hallow creator Alex Jones also conducted an interview with Carlson in November, which was largely focused on the creation of his app.
