The U.S. Secret Service shot an armed man near the White House on Sunday morning.
President Donald Trump was not at the White House during the incident; he was at Mar-a-Lago. The agency reported that it had been warned earlier in the day about a suicidal man traveling to Washington, D.C., from Indiana.
The encounter began around midnight when Secret Service agents found the suspect’s car a block away from the White House, with an armed man outside. He was shot after an “armed confrontation.”
