SNL lampoons Washington Examiner investigation on transgender animal experiments

.

Saturday Night Live cast doubt over President Donald Trump‘s claim on taxpayer-funded experiments on transgender mice.

SNL cast member James Austin Johnson put on his Trump impression again for the comedy sketch show’s cold open. The skit revolved around the moments before Trump gave his first speech to Congress of his second term. Johnson made mention of the Department of Government Efficiency, created and named by Trump senior advisor Elon Musk, which Trump cited for uncovering animal experiments.

“But Elon’s been doing a good job with DOGE. And he gave me some great stuff to talk about at State of the Union,” Johnson said. “You know, they’re spending $8 million on making mice transgender. Can you believe that? Probably not, because it’s not true. But I said it, and it got a big laugh, and that is addictive.”

The National Institutes of Health spent closer to $10 million in grants on the topic of transgender effects, as the Washington Examiner reported. One of the studies injected male mice with female sex hormones and then agitated their respiratory systems to determine the effect of these hormones on the lungs of transgender women. Another study used cross-sex hormones to determine their effects on wound healing. Yet another study injected female mice with testosterone and then introduced a party drug to determine whether the hormones led to an increased risk of overdose.

Ever since Trump made mention of transgender mice, outlets and social media influencers alike have swarmed online to make a clarification between transgender and transgenic. These animal subjects are considered transgenic because they are injected with cross-sex DNA.

TRUMP SETS THE RECORD STRAIGHT ON WHY HE THANKED ROBERTS AT JOINT ADDRESS

Over 36 million viewers tuned in to Trump’s speech, which was too early to be considered a State of the Union address per the Constitution.

Four senators boycotted the speech altogether. Rep. Al Green (D-TX) was thrown out of the Capitol for loudly interrupting Trump as he spoke. Other Democratic members protested with signs and by wearing black or pink.
