Family Ties star rips Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for being wildfire ‘disaster tourists’

.

Actress Justine Bateman slammed Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, in the aftermath of the disastrous Los Angeles wildfires for being “no better than ambulance chasers” by having a “photo op” at an evacuation center for victims.

“Meghan Markle and Harry are no better than ambulance chasers,” Bateman said on X, formerly Twitter, on Saturday evening. “What a repulsive ‘photo op’ they achieved.”

“They are ‘touring the damage’? Are they politicians now? They don’t live here; they are tourists. Disaster Tourists,” she added.

Video from the local Fox 11 Los Angeles TV affiliate went viral, showing Markle with her husband talking to first responders and victims. They met with the World Central Kitchen in Pasadena, where food and relief resources were being given to victims of the Eaton Fire. The couple have donated through their Archewell Foundation to help relief efforts.

The satire outlet the Babylon Bee mocked the royals with the headline “Los Angeles Saved After Meghan Markle Arrives To Stand Around Wearing Baseball Cap.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are not the first that Bateman has ripped over the Southern California fires. She has also been openly laying blame on state and local officials for their management of the fires and water management.

“If you can’t cover the basics, get out,” the actress said on Fox News. “You are useless to us, you are a liability, and you have destroyed people’s lives because you didn’t do your job. You didn’t do what we hired you for. You should resign out of shame.”

“I think when you’re this incompetent, you don’t understand you’re incompetent,” she added.

Last week, she predicted that Los Angeles “is not and will not be ready to host the Olympics in 2028.”

Bateman called on the mayor to resign over the week and has been encouraging her X followers to sign a petition.
