Jim Jordan predicts GOP majority will lead to more protected ‘liberties’

.

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) said the public can anticipate more freedom since the Republican Party won the majority in both chambers of Congress and the White House.

Jordan was on One Nation with Brian Kilmeade Saturday for the first time since a majority of Republicans won the House of Representatives. The congressman reported that these days since the election was called for President-elect Donald Trump have been full of people giving him thumbs-up, winks, and smiles. Voters have had top issues that will become the focus of the next Congress, according to Jordan.

TRUMP’S ‘NO TAXES ON OVERTIME’ PROPOSAL: WHAT TO KNOW

“We need to do tax cuts, reauthorize the tax cuts that helped our economy to grow so much under Trump. Then we need to secure the border of course that was one of the key issues, the economy securing the border. Part of growing the economy too then is common sense energy policy, common sense regulatory policy,” Jordan said. “Then continue our work in making sure Americans’ freedoms, free speech rights, their Second Amendment rights, their first amendment liberties, their fourth amendment liberties, make sure those are protected.”

Trump’s administration so far is full of “good people,” according to Jordan. He commented on the creation of the Department of Government Efficiency under Tesla CEO Elon Musk and former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy as an example of an agency he would like to support.

“Finally what Mr. Musk and Mr. Ramaswamy are doing, getting at the ridiculous waste in government, so they can come forward with a report. We can implement that, pass that and make the government actually work for we the people,” Jordan said.

Republicans in the House of Representatives have won 218 seats so far, with three races left to be called that are so far leaning Republican as well. During this last Congress, the Republican members had 221 seats, and the Democrat members had 214.
