Mark Cuban taking break from politics after stumping for Kamala Harris

.

Billionaire Mark Cuban shared that he will be stepping away from political commentary “for a while” after he campaigned for Vice President Kamala Harris, who lost to President-elect Donald Trump in the 2024 election.

“Just an FYI. Don’t expect any politics or speculation about what might happen for a while. I’m sure there will be plenty to comment on when the time comes,” he wrote on the social media platform Bluesky.

Bluesky users responded to Cuban’s post.

“Mark, you helped her deliver the White House to Trump. Please stay out of politics,” one person wrote on the platform.

“Honestly, that’s good. While we can’t ignore it forever, a break right now to regroup, reevaluate, and reground ourselves is needed,” another person said.

The Shark Tank star was one of the most active surrogates for Harris, speaking at rallies around the country and doing media interviews.

Cuban stepped in controversy in the final weeks of the Harris campaign when he made the suggestion that women around Trump were weak and dumb.

“Donald Trump, you never see him around strong, intelligent women. Ever,” Cuban said during an appearance on ABC’s The View. “It’s just that simple. They’re intimidating to him. He doesn’t like to be challenged by them and, you know, Nikki Haley will call him on his nonsense with reproductive rights and how he sees and treats and talks about women. I mean, he just can’t have her around. It wouldn’t work.”

The comments went viral and set off a slew of social media posts of numerous Trump-supporting women responding to Cuban on social media with their disdain of his criticism.

Cuban later attempted to clarify and apologize for his comments.

“I would probably just add that I’m only speaking to the point that I haven’t seen [Trump] side-by-side on the campaign trail with women I consider strong and intelligent. Like Nikki Haley, Kellyanne [Conway] and Tulsi [Gabbard], among others,” he said.
