CNN’s Van Jones claimed supporters of Vice President Kamala Harris are going to sleep “with a nightmare” after Election Day amid her projected loss to Donald Trump

Harris’s campaign announced that she would not speak at her Election Day watch party and instead will wait until Wednesday morning. It comes as the swing states of Georgia and Pennsylvania were won by Trump, with other swing states such as Michigan and Wisconsin leaning toward the former president.

Shortly after the Georgia announcement, Jones argued that Harris supporters, including black women, are “crushed” over how they are “facing rejection” with Harris’s likely loss.

“And they’re not the only people who are hurting tonight,” Jones said. “If you are a parent of a trans kid, your child’s face was used as a springboard to power for somebody. That doesn’t feel good. There are going to be people tomorrow who are going to be handing clothes at the dry cleaners to people who don’t have papers. There are going to be people who are going to be cleaning your teeth tomorrow who don’t have papers, and they’re terrified tonight.”

Jones concluded these people are going to bed with “a nightmare” and are the ones who will “pay the price” if Trump is president.

CNN’s David Urban, a Republican strategist, pushed back against Jones’s assessment, asking if it is possible that some of the people he was discussing voted for Trump. He also claimed that “the Democratic Party let those black women down, not Donald Trump.”
