After winning the 2022 election in Colorado’s 3rd District by the skin of her teeth, Boebert moved across the state to run in Colorado’s more secure 4th District. She overcame several scandals since reelection, including recorded disruptive behavior at a Beetlejuice musical, to win the 4th District and remain in Congress.

Boebert was favored to win, with the Cook Political Report labeling the race as “solid Republican.”

The race was to replace retired Republican Rep. Ken Buck, who announced his exit from politics after angering Trump and his allies.

Boebert was able to overcome a sizeable fundraising deficit, being outraised by about five times. Calvarese reported raising $2.68 million from July through September, while Boebert raised just $532,000, Colorado Politics reported.

Calvarese attempted to portray Boebert as neglectful of her district.

“Rep. Lauren Boebert’s disrespect of veterans, failure to do anything to lower prices, violation of individual freedoms, and willingness to give up America’s competitive edge has galvanized an outpouring of support from across Colorado,” she said in a statement to the outlet.

The district hasn’t elected a Democrat since 2008.
