Former New Jersey GOP Gov. Chris Christie revealed Tuesday that he would bet $5 on Vice President Kamala Harris to win the 2024 election.
As both the Harris and Trump campaigns came to a close Tuesday, the race is neck and neck. A RealClearPolitics poll average from Tuesday afternoon showed Harris with a slight 0.1 point lead nationwide.
“But you asked about conviction early on, and I realize I didn’t answer,” Christie told George Stephanopoulos on Good Morning America. “I’d bet about five bucks on Harris today. For a guy from New Jersey, that’s not a lot of conviction.”
Christie notably is one of three failed Republican candidates who challenged Trump and refused to endorse any candidate after ending his own campaign. Former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson and former Vice President Mike Pence were the other two who did not endorse while every other candidate endorsed Trump. Even independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. endorsed the former president upon ending his own campaign.

In 2016, Christie endorsed Trump after similarly dropping out of the race. Trump still had Christie’s public support through 2020.
When it comes to the Polymarket, others have disagreed with Christie. Over $1.3 billion have gone toward the chances of Trump winning as of Tuesday.
