Rep. Maria Salazar (R-FL) shared her insight into the Hispanic vote when she predicted that they will vote for Donald Trump this election.
With a little more than a week left until Election Day, Florida is already reporting high early voter turnout. Salazar claimed that the Democratic Party stands to lose its “blue bastion” in Miami-Dade County in particular due to the Hispanic vote that is leaning toward Trump.
“So Miami-Dade County where I am at right now — I represent a district within Miami-Dade County — has always been a blue bastion. Everything indicates it’s going to go for Trump 12 days from now,” Salazar said on Fox News’s Fox Report With Jon Scott. “Everything indicates, according to our numbers, that Republicans are coming out in hordes. Not only that, independents are siding with the GOP. And even some registered Democrats — at least among the Cubans — are voting Trump. That’s another phenomenon. That’s why I’m saying there is a major realignment happening right now within the Republican Party.”
As of Sunday morning, some 48,570 Republican voters in Miami-Dade County have already voted. While the Democratic voters turned out to the tune of over 69,000 voters, over 66,000 ballots were turned in by third-party and unaffiliated voters.

Across Florida over 1.9 million Republican voters cast their ballots early. This outnumbered the over 1.4 million Democratic voters, who traditionally are more likely to vote early than their Republican counterparts.
Hispanic support has dwindled with each election cycle. Former President Barack Obama received 67% of the Hispanic vote in 2012, until former Secretary of State Hilary Clinton garnered 66%, down to President Joe Biden’s 59%. Salazar predicted that Trump will receive a larger share of the vote than the 38% he got in 2020.
