Kimmel says all ‘reasonable’ people should have ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome’

.

Talk show host Jimmy Kimmel suggested “reasonable” people should dislike former President Donald Trump enough to fall under the term “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”

With Election Day less than two weeks away, liberal celebrities are ramping up support for Vice President Kamala Harris. MSNBC’s Morning Joe invited the ABC late-night host onto its program to take shots at the Republican presidential nominee.

“I’m an optimistic person. I’m not hysterical. I laugh when people say, ‘Oh, you’ve got Trump derangement syndrome.’ If you’re a reasonable person, you should have Trump derangement syndrome,” Kimmel said. “And by the way, I think he has derangement syndrome about us, too. The fact of the matter is, this is a dangerous person, this is a stupid person, and that’s a bad combination.”

Kimmel referenced the conviction by a Manhattan jury that found Trump guilty on all 34 counts of falsifying business records. The judge in that case will not sentence Trump until after Nov. 5.

“I think what we’re forgetting — I keep forgetting it, and I have to keep reminding myself — he’s not just running for president, he’s running to stay out of prison, and that’s a pretty powerful thing,” Kimmel said. “He is literally running for his freedom.”

There was a correlation between the former president’s indictments and his performance in the polls. Before Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg indicted Trump, the former president’s then-opponent, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), stood a chance in the Republican primary election with 15 points between them.

However, ever since the indictment was brought down in April of last year, Trump’s lead increased until he was named the Republican presidential nominee. Even after he was convicted in May, Trump reported a dramatic increase in fundraising.

Kimmel is the latest celebrity to ramp up the anti-Trump rhetoric. Joining him, actor Michael Keaton took to Instagram to rant against Trump, and actress Jennifer Garner addressed Harris’s campaigners in Pennsylvania and implied their sexual appeal increased because of their involvement.
