Nearly 15 million ballots have been cast nationwide in this year’s elections, even as candidates up and down the ballot work to win over undecided voters.
Those statistics include in-person early votes and returned mail-in ballots, with almost 57 million ballots requested by mail.

The neck-and-neck race between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump is driving a high general election turnout, but control over Congress also hangs in the balance as House Republicans and Senate Democrats look to defend their respective majorities.
Here’s where early voting trends stood in battleground states as of Monday using data from state election offices, the University of Florida’s Election Lab, L2’s Early Return Dashboard, and the New York Times.
Nationwide
Only about half of states report party registration data for those who have cast early ballots, and far fewer report demographics, such as age, gender, and race.

Of 7.3 million ballots in states reporting party affiliation, Democrats accounted for 46.3% of ballots, Republicans were 32.5%, and none or a minor party were 21.2%.
Of the 5.5 million ballots in states reporting age, 5.2% were 18-25 years old, 10.8% were 26-40, 34.8% were 41-65, and 49.3% were over 65.
About 54% of the 4.9 million ballots cast in states reporting gender were female, 44% were male, and 1.5% were unknown.
Only three states, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina, report race and Hispanic ethnicity data for early votes. In the trio of states, 64% were white, 24% black, 2.1% Hispanic, 1.7% Asian American, 0.4% Native American, and 7.7% other or unknown.
Pennsylvania
About 919,000 voters have cast early ballots in Pennsylvania. Democrats outweigh Republicans roughly 2 to 1, accounting for 63% of early votes compared to 27.6% from those registered with the GOP.
Voters over 65 account for 54.4%, those aged 41-65 were 29.3%, 26-40 were 11.1%, and 18-25 were 5.2%.
Georgia
Georgia early votes total more than 1.4 million. More than 44% were aged 41-65, 37% were over 65, 12.8% were 26-40, and 6% were 18-25. More than half, 55%, were female, with 44.4% male and 0.6% unknown.
Most voters, 58.6%, were white, compared to 27.6% black, 2.4% Hispanic, 2.2% Asian American, 0.4% Native American, and 8.8% other or unknown.
North Carolina
North Carolina has seen a little more than 1 million ballots cast, 35.3% of which were Democratic, 33.25% were Republican, and 31.5% were none or a minor party.
Those aged 41-65 accounted for the most with 41.2%, followed by 40.1% over 65, 12.2% for 26-40, and 6.55% for 18-25. Females were 51.6%, males 42.7%, and unknown 5.7%. Almost 70% were white, 18.5% black, 2.2% Hispanic, 1.5% Asian American, 0.5% Native American, and 7.4% other or unknown.
Michigan
More than 1 million ballots have been cast in the Great Lakes State.
Women were 56.2%, males 43.6%, and 0.2% unknown. More than 60% were over 65, 28.6% were 41-65, 7.8% were 26-40, and 3.4% were 18-25.
Ohio
Just over 668,000 ballots have been cast in Ohio. Of the 1.07 million requested mail-in ballots, about 235,000 were returned. Additional data are not available.
Nevada
Early votes in Nevada total just under 188,000, including 38.4% Democratic, 36.9% Republican, and 24.7% none or a minor party.

Arizona
Total early votes in Arizona are just shy of 400,000. Democrats account for 35.6%, Republicans 43.2%, and 21.2% none or a minor party.
Wisconsin
Approximately 305,000 ballots have been cast in Wisconsin. The state does not provide demographic details.
