Fox News to host women-only Trump town hall

.

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump will participate in a televised town hall next week featuring an audience composed solely of women to discuss a myriad of issues important to them.

The event on Wednesday in Cumming, Georgia, will be hosted by Harris Faulkner of Fox News as a special edition of The Faulkner Focus. It follows the Trump campaign’s recent announcements of rallies in traditionally deep blue states, including one at New York’s Madison Square Garden. The former president did, however, turn down offers to have debates on Fox News and CNN with his Democratic rival, Vice President Kamala Harris.

“Women, as you know, make up the largest group of registered and active voters in our nation,” Faulkner said Friday when announcing the town hall. “It is essential that those voters understand where these presidential candidates stand on the issues that matter most to them.”

Faulkner added that voters will get to ask the former president about “the economy, abortion, immigration, healthcare, daycare, child care, and more.”

According to a statement from Fox News, the town hall will be pretaped. While there is not a town hall scheduled with the vice president, network representatives said she is welcome to come on anytime.

“FOX News has a standing invitation to Vice President Harris for a townhall event of equal stature which has been extended to her campaign multiple times since she became a candidate for president in August,” the statement reads.

In recent days, Harris has appeared on CBS’s 60 Minutes and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, along with her first live interview since becoming the Democratic nominee on The View.
