Biden lambastes Trump for misinformation on hurricane response: ‘Un-American’

.

President Joe Biden attacked former President Donald Trump for a second time Wednesday evening over misinformation he is spreading about the federal government’s hurricane response efforts.

Biden delivered remarks from the White House just hours before Hurricane Milton was expected to make landfall on Florida’s western coast. Following his remarks, the president fielded a handful of questions from reporters in attendance, including what he thinks of Trump’s rationale for governing the hurricane attacks.

“I don’t know. I simply don’t know. You can speculate. I just it — I’ve used this phrase more than I’ve used it ever my whole career — it’s un-American,” he responded. “It’s un-American. It’s not who the hell we are. What the hell are they talking about?”

In recent days, Milton reached Category 5 strength. Though it had been downgraded to a Category 3 earlier Wednesday, the president warned Floridians that “it’s still expected to be one of the most and worst destructive hurricanes to hit Florida in over a century.”

Biden also reiterated his accusation that Trump, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), and other Republicans are undermining the government’s response by spreading misinformation about the storm, an attack he lobbed earlier in the day after taking part in a briefing with Federal Emergency Management Agency Administrator Deanne Criswell.

“It’s beyond ridiculous. It’s so stupid. It’s got to stop,” the president declared in the Roosevelt Room.

When asked if he has considered calling Trump and asking him to stop, Biden simply scoffed and shot a quick “c’mon” at reporters.
