Milwaukee hosted the Republican National Convention in July. Trump came under fire before the convention for allegedly calling Milwaukee a “horrible city,” a remark Democrats capitalized on.
The city is crucial to the state’s election result as the state’s largest voting county, but it tends to vote heavily blue. He lost by nearly 40 percentage points there in 2020 and by about 37 points in 2016.
