Former first lady Melania Trump said in a new social media video posted on Wednesday that she “stands proudly behind her nude modeling work.”
“Why do I stand proudly behind my nude modeling work?” Trump is heard posing in the new video.
“The more pressing question is: Why has the media chosen to scrutinize my celebration of the human form in a fashion photo shoot?” the former model said defending her past career.
She continued, “Are we no longer able to appreciate the beauty of the human body? Throughout history, master artists have revered the human shape, evoking profound emotions and admiration. We should honor our bodies and embrace the timeless tradition of using art as a powerful means of self-expression.”
The 45-second video clip did not show pictures of Trump’s work but instead showed classic artwork and statues depicting nudity such as Michelangelo’s David and Paul Cézanne’s Bathers.
The video closes with a link to purchase her upcoming memoir.
Her latest promotional videos about her new memoir have revealed numerous insights into the relatively private former first lady.
Former CNN anchor Don Lemon was ridiculed recently for rolling his eyes and scoffing at another video Trump posted, in which she revealed her emotional reaction to the news of her husband’s first assassination attempt.
MSNBC contributor and former Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele mocked her video on Wednesday about nude modeling with a quip that likened her comments to alleged school library book bans of inappropriate and pornographic books for children.
“Oops, someone’s about to have their book banned,” Steele wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
