Farmington shooting: Three civilians killed and two officers shot in New Mexico

At least three people were killed, and multiple others were hurt Monday afternoon in a shooting at the intersection of Apache Street and Orchard Avenue in Farmington, New Mexico. Police responded to a shooting, and the suspect was killed on the scene. Two officers sustained gunshot wounds.

“The suspect’s identity is unknown and there are no other known threats at this time,” Farmington Police said on Facebook.

Around 12:30 p.m. MT, Farmington police officers responded to an active shooter situation near Apache St. and Orchard Ave. Schools were locked down citywide.

Shortly after, the Phoenix Field Division of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said it was investigating the shooting.

Farmington school lockdowns were lifted around 1 p.m. MT, and police confirmed three civilians were killed and two police officers who were shot were being treated for their injuries.

Around 2 p.m. MT, Farmington Police said on Facebook that there was no presumed second suspect in the shooting.
