Gov. Ron DeSantis’s (R-FL) political team made a significant adjustment ahead of his 2024 decision.

His political operation, which could transform into his campaign team, is moving office spaces in Tallahassee, a source familiar with the situation told the Washington Examiner on Monday. Additionally, DeSantis’s press secretary, Bryan Griffin, is expected to move to the political team.

Griffin confirmed his exit, but the governor’s office did not respond to questions about his future.

“It has been the honor of a lifetime to serve as Press Secretary for the Florida Office of @GovRonDeSantis. Thank you!” Griffin tweeted.

Since his 2022 reelection bid, DeSantis has retained a political team that has spearheaded many of his ventures across early primary states. While DeSantis is not a candidate yet, the brisk itinerary enabled him to test the political waters and build up his brand ahead of a campaign launch.

During 10 major Republican events DeSantis attended, he managed to help boost GOP fundraising by $4.3 million, according to his political team. Allies of former President Donald Trump, DeSantis’s chief rival should he enter the arena, have accused him of mounting a “shadow presidential campaign.”

Make America Great Again Inc., a super PAC aligned with Trump, filed a complaint to that effect, but it was spurned by the Florida Commission on Ethics.

Over the weekend, DeSantis swung through Iowa, where he attended the Feenstra Family Picnic in Sioux Center and made a surprise stop in Des Moines, not far from where Trump canceled his planned rally due to tornado concerns.

DeSantis has widely polled as Trump’s main rival in the 2024 contest. Now that Florida’s state legislative session has wrapped up its business, he is expected to make his presidential intentions known soon.

“So I’ve been pretty busy. I know there’s different stuff in the news,” DeSantis said recently. “I may have something to say about the overall landscape for 2024, but stay tuned on that.”
