ChineseCanadian singer Kris Wu was sentenced to two prison terms adding up to 13 years on Friday following his sex crime convictions.

Beijing’s Chaoyang District Court sentenced Wu, 32, to 11 years and six months for three rape charges from 2020, plus one year and 10 months for “gathering people to commit adultery” in 2018, which will be spent consecutively. Wu also faces a fine of over $83 million for evading taxes.

The court ruled Wu would be deported, but the singer has been in Chinese police custody since July 2021. Chaoyang District Court claimed on its WeChat account that a Canadian diplomat was present in court for Wu’s sentencing.

One of Wu’s victims claimed to be 17 at the time of her rape in his home. When she went public with her accusation, Wu denied the accusation, and seven more women allegedly approached her to say they’d been seduced by Wu with promises of employment, according to the Associated Press. Wu’s proceedings were closed to the press to protect the identities of the witnesses against him.
