House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) is holding a press conference detailing the Biden family’s alleged involvement in a “criminal scheme.”

Comer has long scrutinized possible influence peddling by members of the Biden family, including Hunter. Recently, he teased evidence that the president and other members of his family got payments from the Chinese Communist Party to further Chinese interests when he was vice president.

White House officials have already taken aim at Comer in advance of the anticipated presser.

“Comer is loudly and proudly broadcasting a press conference today to continue his long pattern of making absurd claims that President Biden has made governing decisions not in the interest of America, but of the Chinese Communist Party, using baseless claims, personal attacks, and innuendo to try to score political points,” White House spokesman Ian Sams wrote in an internal memo, per Fox News.

The press conference comes on the heels of an interim report about the intelligence communities letter on Hunter Biden’s laptop released Wednesday. The report was authored by the GOP-led Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government and the House Intelligence Committee.

Hunter Biden’s laptop fueled concerns about influence peddling by the family, and its content has become a focal point for Republican investigators.
