White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre will hold a press conference following President Joe Biden‘s transportation reform announcement on Monday.
Earlier in the day, Biden, alongside Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, announced reforms to protect consumers when there are flight delays or cancellations, following a disastrous holiday season plagued with mass cancellations out of Southwest Airlines.

Under the new policy, airlines would be required to compensate travelers for delays or cancellations that were within an airline company’s control. It will lay out parameters for refunds and other accommodations to passengers, such as meals and hotel expenses, according to a preview from the White House.

Jean-Pierre’s briefing will also likely cover Tuesday’s debt ceiling meeting between the White House and Congressional leaders from both parties, as well as Biden’s announcement that he plans to veto the House GOP’s immigration bill, saying it “does nothing to address the root causes of migration, reduces humanitarian protections, and restricts lawful pathways.”
The White House press briefing will begin at 2:30 p.m. EDT.
