A Philadelphia man is crediting his asthma inhaler for saving his life Tuesday after he was shot by a stray bullet while riding a bus.
The incident occurred around 3 a.m. when Quinzel Kane, 35, was riding the bus to work and a bullet struck him in the right arm, according to a report.

“Boom, you know. I heard some gunshots outside of the bus,” Kane said.
“The first shot I heard, I immediately felt the impact of it. I went down to the ground,” Kane added.
The stray bullet made its way toward his stomach but was stopped by the asthma inhaler in his sweatshirt’s front pocket, he said
“It would have hit me right in the gut,” the father of three said. “First thing came to my mind was my kids — if I’m going to make it home or if I’m going to die just getting shot in the forearm.”
At least seven people were on the bus, but Kane was the only person injured during the incident, the report noted. No arrests have been made.
Kane is recovering from non-life-threatening wounds and is getting back to work.
