Trump lawyers ask for mistrial in E Jean Carroll defamation and battery case

Lawyers for former President Donald Trump are requesting a mistrial in the ongoing court case between him and author E. Jean Carroll.

Trumps’ lawyers allege the judge has made “pervasive unfair and prejudicial rulings” in the case so far, in a filing on Monday.

Carroll is suing the former president for battery and defamation related to an alleged encounter at a department store in the 1990s.
