Republican 2024 aspirant Nikki Haley said in an interview that President Joe Biden may not “make it until 86 years old,” the age he’d complete a hypothetical second term.

Haley noted that Vice President Kamala Harris is in line to succeed Biden if he dies in office. Polls have shown that many Democrats and Independents are also uneasy about his age.

BIDEN SAYS AGE ‘DOESN’T REGISTER WITH ME’: ‘I CAN’T EVEN SAY THE NUMBER’

“We can all be very clear and say with a matter of fact that if you vote for Joe Biden, you really are counting on a President Harris. Because the idea that he would make it until 86 years old is not something that I think is likely,” Haley told Fox News.

Biden addressed questions about his age from the Rose Garden during a press event with South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol Wednesday. A recent NBC poll found that 70% of voters believed Biden shouldn’t pursue another Oval Office stint. Half of them cited age as a major factor.

“With regard to age … I can’t even say the number. It doesn’t register with me,” Biden said. “They’re going to see a race, and they’re going to judge whether I have it or don’t have it. I respect them taking a hard look at it. I took a hard look at it as well.”

The president also pointed to polling showing voters having a more favorable view of his accomplishments despite being apprehensive about his running again.

Most of Haley’s criticism of Biden has been policy-focused. For instance, she recently zinged him as the “weakest president in modern history” and cited the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan as a reason why.

When Haley launched her campaign back in February, she floated a policy requiring contenders aspiring for president age of 75 to submit to mental cognitive tests.

Already, Biden is the oldest president in United States history at the age of 80. He would be 82 at the start of a second term and 86 by its conclusion. Biden announced his reelection campaign Tuesday, with a pitch to “finish the job.”
