Former Gov. Chris Christie slammed former President Donald Trump‘s character over hush money payments made to porn star Stormy Daniels.

Christie said Trump’s character is not that of someone who should be the president while speaking at a Semafor event on Tuesday.

CHRIS CHRISTIE DOESN’T THINK RON DESANTIS IS A ‘CONSERVATIVE’ AFTER DISNEY FLAP

“You have someone who has had an affair with a porn star, paid her off $130,000 to cover it up, to keep that information from the American people while he’s seeking the highest office in the land. That’s not the character of somebody who I think should be president of the United States,” Christie said.

He also said that the action by Trump does not need to be “criminalized to be condemned,” adding that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg should not have been pursuing charges against Trump.

The former New Jersey governor said on Sunday that he did not think Trump was in the clear heading into the 2024 primary.

“I don’t think the field is starting to look like Trump,” Christie said on ABC’s This Week on Sunday. “When you’re indicted in one place and you’re facing investigations in two others, it makes you at least an uncertain winner. But again, he’s the former president. So [of] course he’s going to be the front-runner. He has the best name ID of anybody in the race. But you already have four candidates who announced.”

Christie would not say whether he has made a decision to run for president in 2024. He said he would make a decision within the “next couple weeks.”

The former New Jersey governor also bashed Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) for his battle with Disney, saying he does not think DeSantis’s actions are “conservative.”
