A New York City mother is clapping back at Democrats who likened her statements in testimony before the House Judiciary Committee as “props in a MAGA Broadway production.”

“Step one foot in the hood and tell me that those people there in that hood are props as well, you know?” Madeline Brame said on Fox News’s Hannity, referencing a rebuke given to Republicans by Rep. Hank Johnson (D-GA) during Monday’s House Judiciary Committee field hearing on local crime in New York.

“He is a rich black man just telling poor black men that they’re props and that the crime and the things that they’re experiencing — it’s not as bad as they think that they are,” Brame continued. “Not just him. Not just him. All the elected officials, you know? All of them. Especially the ones that are running New York, all right?”

During Monday’s hearing, Johnson compared his Republican counterparts to “jackbooted thugs” and blasted them for playing politics.

“The MAGA Republican extremists are not interested in gun violence or even knife violence,” Johnson said. “The Republican witnesses who have used their time to criticize District Attorney [Alvin] Bragg have served as props in a MAGA Broadway production.”

“There are hundreds and thousands of us,” Brame told the committee. “We don’t give a damn about your politics. We don’t care. It could be the man from the moon who’s running for president, OK — as long as whoever’s in there [stands] for law and order and is going to return some civility and sanity to our city.”

Brame added that the lack of deterrence against crime has created a situation of “young people out here acting like savages.”

“There are no deterrents to that behavior,” Brame said. “It gave them the green light to do whatever it is they feel like doing to whomever, however, whenever, with no consequences and no deterrents.”

“It’s creating a whole new generation of career criminals and mass incarceration because if they are arrested, they just let them go, let them go, let them go,” she continued. “How many mothers would rather get a call from their child from Rikers Island than from the coroner telling them where to go and identify their child’s body?”
