Actor, film producer, and author Kirk Cameron met with children, parents, and grandparents in Arizona at his latest story hour stop, calling it “the most faith-honoring, family-oriented and patriotic gathering yet.”

With more than 600 people in attendance at the Civic Center Library in Scottsdale, Arizona, on Friday, Cameron read his faith-based children’s book As You Grow while also reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and singing “God Bless America.”

“We talked openly about proven solutions to our country’s problems (including the border crisis), returning to good and godly values, and the importance of searching for the truth,” Cameron told the Washington Examiner.

Cameron was joined by Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb of Arizona, who recently announced a bid for the United States Senate, challenging Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ).

“As a Sheriff, I’ve spent my life protecting people and keeping citizens safe. There’s no greater call than to protect the hearts and minds of our little children,” Lamb said. “That is a weighty thing when you think about it. We must protect them, love them, and pour into them! The future of our great country depends on it.”

Cameron began touring the country earlier this year along with other Brave Books authors to help parents push back against “the storm of wokeism that appears to be sweeping the nation.”

“If we want to see our culture changed, we need to create the culture,” Cameron added. “Good people with moral integrity have to create the culture, and that is what we are doing at these events.”

Cameron’s next story time stop is set for Cherry Hill, New Jersey, on April 29.
