Allies of former President Donald Trump are angry after a new poll showed his chief rival Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) holding an advantage in a few battleground states.

In a hypothetical matchup, DeSantis dispatches Biden 48% to 42% in Arizona and 45% to 42% in Pennsylvania, according to a Public Opinion Strategies poll. Meanwhile, Trump loses to Biden 42% to 46% in Arizona and 44% to 45% in Pennsylvania.

DESANTIS ALLIES HOPE ADVANTAGE IN BIG STATES WILL HELP HIM IN 2024 GOP RACE

“Public Opinion Strategies (POS) tried desperately for days to try to pitch this fake poll to other outlets. But they refused to disclose their ties to other 2024 candidates and would not release their cross tabs (data),” the Trump War Room wrote on Twitter. “Truly a POS poll.”

A key finding in that survey is that DeSantis appeared to boost GOP congressional candidates in Arizona. In a DeSantis-Biden matchup, respondents opted for a Republican candidate over a Democratic one 47% to 38%. During a Trump-Biden matchup, they went for a Democrat 42% to 41%, per the poll.

“DESANTIS POLLING DATA IS AN ESTABLISHMENT PSYOP A new poll just released tn shows Ron Desantis outperforming Donald Trump quite substantially in multiple battleground states But it’s fake ‘Public Opinion Strategies’ is a highly biased establishment polling firm,” a Trump influencer with the handle Johnny MAGA wrote.

The poll was conducted from April 11 through April 13 among 500 registered voters in both states with a 4.4 percentage point margin of error.

Trump won Arizona and Pennsylvania in 2016 but lost them both in 2020.

Public Opinion Strategies previously pegged DeSantis as beating Trump at 45% to 37% in Iowa and tying Trump in New Hampshire at 39%. However, that lead vanished when other candidates were added to the mix, with Trump and DeSantis tying in Iowa and trailing Trump by 12 percentage points in the Granite State.
