WATCH LIVE: Merrick Garland expected to announce details of Trump Special Counsel

Attorney General Merrick Garland, scheduled to speak at 2:15 p.m. on Friday, is expected to discuss appointment of a special counsel to decide whether former President Donald Trump should be charged related to the Justice Department’s criminal investigations.
Garland’s speech comes the same day the Wall Street Journal reported that Garland “will appoint a special counsel to determine” whether the Biden DOJ should charge Trump. The outlet said that “the exact scope of the special counsel’s remit and who it would be couldn’t be determined.”
The expected announcement comes right after Trump announced another presidential bid for the 2024 election on Tuesday.
