Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley‘s campaign blasted former President Donald Trump‘s presidential campaign for being consumed in past grievances and drama in a memo.

The memo, obtained by Axios, outlined the Haley campaign’s first quarter while criticizing Trump and Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), who is widely seen as a top 2024 presidential contender.

“Donald Trump had a pretty good Q1, if you count being indicted as ‘good.’ The sensationalized partisan prosecution in Manhattan understandably made Republicans more sympathetic to the former president. It is an outrageous prosecutorial abuse. Still, it’s increasingly clear that Trump’s candidacy is more consumed by the grievances of the past and the promise of more drama in the future, rather than a forward-looking vision for the American people,” the memo said.

The memo also offered the contrast of Haley being at the southern border while Trump was in a Manhattan courthouse.

Haley’s campaign also took aim at DeSantis, saying he has “made one misstep after another” before announcing a White House bid.

“Ron DeSantis essentially launched his presidential campaign with a national book tour during this period and made one misstep after another, confirming what many observers have long suspected: He’s not ready for prime time. Among other things, he declared Russia’s brutal, unprovoked, and illegal invasion of Ukraine a mere ‘territorial dispute,'” the memo said.

The memo also detailed the campaigning Haley has been doing in Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina, along with the $11 million fundraising haul in the first quarter.

“We raised over $11 million in six weeks. That’s more than Donald Trump raised in his first quarter in this race, and more than nearly all the Republican presidential candidates in 2016 raised in their first quarter. We had 70,000 donations from all 50 states — thanks to our tireless candidate, our great fundraising team, our grassroots supporters, and all who donated and hosted events around the country,” the memo said.

Haley trails far behind the two leading contenders in the GOP field, with the Real Clear Politics polling average showing her in fourth place behind Trump, DeSantis, and just below former Vice President Mike Pence.

The former South Carolina governor is one of only a handful of announced GOP presidential candidates, alongside Trump, entrepreneur and author Vivek Ramaswamy, and former Gov. Asa Hutchinson (R-AR). DeSantis, who is seen as one of the top contenders for the 2024 GOP nomination, is expected to announce his bid in late May or early June.
