A Florida middle school teacher is accused of organizing fights between students in her classroom, allegedly giving orders such as “30 seconds, no screaming, no yelling, no phones.”
Angel Footman, a teacher at Griffin Middle School in Tallahassee, is facing four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to court documents obtained by WCTV, which add that a school resource officer was alerted on March 24 that students were being allowed to fight in the 23-year-old teacher’s classroom.

Detectives reportedly reviewed footage allegedly showing fights taking place on March 22 and March 23. And not only did several sixth-grade girls tell detectives they participated in planned fights during school hours, but according to the local news outlet, they claim they were invited back for more fights.
One detective said he identified Footman sitting on her desk, watching the fights take place without intervening, and making statements such as, “no screaming, no nothing” and “stop pulling hair,” per WCTV. The detective did not find that she told administrators about the fights at all.

Footman reportedly denied that she organized fights in any way, but she said she failed to call for help and confirmed she did not alert administrators. An arraignment is scheduled for May 4, according to court records.
