The Easter Bunny hopped its way behind the podium before the White House press briefing on Monday.

The bunny greeted journalists and handed out candy to the assembled reporters before White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre shooed the bunny away. The Easter Bunny did not take any questions from the reporters.

“Hop on out of here, Hop on out of here,” Jean-Pierre told the Easter Bunny before thanking the bunny for its appearance.

The Easter Bunny was at the White House for the annual Easter Egg Roll, which President Joe Biden hosted earlier on Monday. The theme for the event was “EGGucation,” the same theme Biden had for his first egg roll in 2022.

“For the second year in the war row, we’ve turned the south lawn of the White House into a school community. Where 30,000 people from across the country will participate in one of the White House, most cherished traditions. This year’s theme is ‘EGGucation’ we’re reminding families that it can be fun and that it never stops,” Jean-Pierre said.

The attendees include “thousands of military and veteran families, caregivers, and survivors,” along with families of the USS Delaware and the USS Gabrielle Giffords.

Biden also told NBC’s Al Roker that he’s “planning on running” for president in 2024 but is “not prepared to announce it yet.”
