WATCH LIVE: Tennessee House holds vote to remove three Democrats from statehouse over protests

Republican lawmakers in the Tennessee House are considering expelling three Democratic members of the chamber for allegedly hijacking proceedings last week in an effort to protest gun laws.

The three resolutions would expel state Reps. Gloria Johnson, Justin Jones, and Justin Pearson, alleging they brought “disorder and dishonor” upon the state House of Representatives.

During protests on March 30, the three Democratic lawmakers interrupted proceedings for the chamber by using a megaphone to call for gun control laws and disregarding rules on decorum, among other House rules, according to state House Speaker Cameron Sexton.
