The former president is scheduled to return to Mar-a-Lago after his court appearance. He’s expected to give a speech at the resort Tuesday night. Trump is the first U.S. president to be indicted.

The case is being overseen by State Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan, who previously presided over a trial of the Trump Organization and former Chief Financial Officer Allen Weisselberg. The defendants in that case were found guilty of 17 counts of tax fraud and falsifying business records.
