Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) juxtaposed the differences in treatment of former President Donald Trump and first son Hunter Biden by law enforcement.

Flagging was he described as a “multiple-tier system of justice,” Johnson argued that the first son has enjoyed “kid-glove treatment” while contending that Trump has weathered “politicized prosecution” from Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

“We probably have a multiple-tier system of justice, one for the well-connected Democrats, the kid glove treatment that Hunter Biden certainly has experienced,” Johnson said on Fox News’s Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo. “Is there a serious investigation? We really don’t know.”

Johnson blasted Bragg’s investigation of Trump over the alleged $130,000 hush money payment to adult film actress Stormy Daniels, also known as Stephanie Clifford, without delving into specifics.

“This is obviously politicized prosecution of President Trump. You saw the way the news media handled January 6 committee … all kinds of praise for that completely partisan effort. And then legitimate oversight that the House is doing — now that’s termed as highly politicized by the mainstream media,” Johnson bemoaned. “It’s not a fair fight. It’s not a level playing field.”

Trump has denied wrongdoing across the board and maintained that he’s “not frustrated” by the “fake investigation” against him.

Recently, Republicans on the House Oversight Committee disclosed that they acquired financial records showing that Hunter Biden, Jim Biden, and Hallie Biden, widow of the late Beau Biden, were paid by Hunter’s associate Rob Walker via Chinese energy firm CEFC. President Joe Biden denied that report.

Johnson noted that Republicans obtained records from a Chinese bank, but other banks, likely United States banks, have yet to be forthcoming with those records. Still, Johnson commended Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) for his work on examining the Biden family’s overseas business dealings.

“I’m really encouraging and really appreciate what Congressman Comer and Jordan are doing. I’m hoping that they’re going to be able to subpoena the US bank records that we requested the information [for], but we didn’t receive anything,” he continued.

Last week, the Treasury Department responded to a Comer request made in January for financial records connected to the Biden family and their associates’ business activity as his panel scrutinizes alleged influence peddling. The department said it would give “in-camera access” to the requested material.

Hunter Biden is also facing a federal investigation for alleged tax fraud and lying on a form for a firearm purchase.
