Donald Trump announced he is running for president again Tuesday evening after losing his reelection bid to Joe Biden in 2020.

Trump’s announcement from his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida lasted more than an hour and was wide-ranging in its topics. Here are some of the key moments from his speech.

The moment Trump announced his run

The moment Trump announced he was running for the presidency once more happened early in the speech and was done in typical Trump fashion: with a flashy statement.

“In order to make America great and glorious again, I am tonight announcing my candidacy for president of the United States,” Trump said.

Trump gives shout-out to candidate who has reportedly clinched the House for GOP

Trump applauded the Republicans for taking back the House after Decision Desk HQ projected the GOP to win the lower chamber of Congress.

He specifically gave a shout-out to House candidate Kevin Kiley from California for being the one who “did it.”

The Associated Press and most other outlets have not yet called the race for House control.

Trump speculates that China played a role in 2020 election

During the speech, Trump discussed how he believes the Chinese government does not like him, even speculating that it may have played a role in his 2020 loss to Biden.

“China played a very active role in the 2020 election,” Trump said.

The former president also quipped about how he called Chinese President Xi Jinping “king” because the leader is essentially the “president for life.”

Unlike in other speeches, Trump did not go on in length about allegations that he believes the 2020 election was stolen from him.

Trump brings out his signature lines

Throughout his speech, Trump brought out many of his signature lines from his presidential campaigns in elections past.

Most notably, he talked again about “the wall” while touting his policy positions on border security and even said he wants to add more wall to the southern border.

“We built the wall, and now we will add to it,” Trump said.

Near the end of his speech, the former president called for term limits for members of Congress, invoking his signature “drain the swamp” line.

“We will dismantle the deep state and restore government by the people. To further drain the swamp, I will push for a constitutional amendment to impose term limits on members of Congress,” Trump said.

Trump concluded his speech by saying, “We will make America great again.”

Also notable about the announcement was who was not in attendance, most significantly the former president’s daughter and onetime adviser, Ivanka Trump. In a statement released when her father was wrapping up his speech, Ivanka Trump said she would be staying out of politics to focus on her family.
