Former President Donald Trump responded to Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) weighing in on his alleged affair with adult film star Stormy Daniels, with Trump making veiled accusations of his own.

DeSantis broke his silence on the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office mulling possible charges against Trump regarding an alleged hush money payment to Daniels, ripping District Attorney Alvin Bragg and chiding that he doesn’t know much about “paying hush money to a porn star to secure silence over some type of alleged affair.”

RON DESANTIS SLAMS ALVIN BRAGG FOR ‘PURSUING A POLITICAL AGENDA’ IN POSSIBLE TRUMP INDICTMENT

Trump wrote on Truth Social that “Ron DeSanctimonious will probably find out” about false accusations “when he’s unfairly and illegally attacked by a woman, even classmates that are ‘underage’ (or possibly man!).”

“Ron will probably find out about this sometime in the future when he’s unfairly and illegally attacked by a woman (or possibly a man!) with false accusations,” Trump wrote in a since-deleted post earlier.

“Pure weakness,” Donald Trump Jr. interjected, saying DeSantis was ignoring Democrats “weaponizing the law.”

Trump has long denied allegations of an affair with Daniels and wrongdoing in the Manhattan investigation against him. Prosecutors are zeroing in on a possible falsification of business records purportedly to conceal a 2016 election cycle-era $130,000 payment to Daniels to keep her quiet about the alleged encounter with Trump about a decade prior.

Backers eyed DeSantis to see if he would rally to Trump’s defense publicly. DeSantis did so during a press conference Monday.

“The Manhattan district attorney is a Soros-funded prosecutor, so he, like other Soros-funded prosecutors, they weaponize their office to impose a political agenda on society at the expense of the rule of law and public safety,” DeSantis said.

“He has downgraded over 50% of the felonies to misdemeanors. He says he doesn’t even want to have jail time for the vast, vast majority of crime, and what we’ve seen in Manhattan is we’ve seen the crime rate go up and citizens being less safe,” DeSantis added.

The Florida governor has long refrained from getting embroiled in a tit-for-tat with Trump, frequently ducking Trump’s attacks. He has consistently polled as Trump’s top challenger should he enter the 2024 GOP primary.

Donald Trump Jr. panned DeSantis’s response as “pure weakness” and dubbed him as being “totally owned by Karl Rove, Paul Ryan & his billionaire donors.”

Trump suggested on Saturday he “will be arrested on Tuesday” and called for “protest, take our nation back.”

A grand jury in the case is expected to hear Monday from lawyer Robert Costello, who is expected to counter former Trump lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen, a key witness in the inquiry.
