Lawyer and Harvard Law School Professor Emeritus Alan Dershowitz blasted the possible indictment and arrest of former President Donald Trump as “100% political.”
“Purely, purely political,” Dershowitz told America Right Now’s Tom Basile.

“Look, the attorney general of New York ran on a campaign to get Trump — [Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg], essentially the same thing,” he said.
The notion that Trump could be the first former president to be indicted in U.S. history began circulating after multiple reports suggested that Bragg would indict Trump on charges related to an investigation into hush money payments made out to porn star Stormy Daniels.
“This is 100% political. There is no basis for this prosecution, but with the judiciary in New York, you never know,” Dershowitz said. “The courts could uphold it.”
That is the problem, according to Dershowitz.
“The problem is every part of the judicial system has become politicized,” he said. “‘Get Trump!’ This ‘Get Trump!’ business.”

Dershowitz recently published a book titled Get Trump: The Threat to Civil Liberties, Due Process, and Our Constitutional Rule of Law and said the idea behind it has “permeated every aspect of our legal system.”
“So, normally, a person has a guarantee, at least, that the courts will free him,” he said. “Here, there’s no assurance that the courts of New York will. It may have to go up to the United States Supreme Court.”
