Fox News host Tucker Carlson is expected to put Republican presidential hopefuls in the hot seat this summer when he moderates an Iowa summit.

Carlson will serve as moderator for the Family Leadership Summit, a gathering of conservatives anticipated to bring in myriad Republicans eyeing the Oval Office, according to a report.

The Fox News host is considered by many a populist well known for his no-holds-barred style of interviewing, and his moderating of the summit, hosted by the Family Leader, could help bring the wide-ranging field of candidates under control.

Many conservatives are split between Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) and former President Donald Trump, and Carlson could serve as the figure to unite them, according to a prominent grassroots activist cited in the report.

Carlson has even garnered speculation that he might throw his hat into the 2024 race, the report noted.

“If there’s one group of people I know well, it’s politicians,” he said at last year’s summit. “Politicians are very simple organisms. They don’t want an unlimited number of things. They want to win elections. That’s it.”

Promoting family values and battling the woke agenda pushed by the Left are what should matter to voters, according to Carlson.

These are the topics the firebrand host is expected to grill the candidates on.

When looking for the next Republican president, voters should seek out the person who shuns elitist media, he said.

“You need to be really wary of candidates who care what the New York Times thinks,” he said.
