President Joe Biden is speaking at a St. Patrick’s Day luncheon hosted by the Friends of Ireland Caucus at the Capitol on Friday.

Biden, who has always been staunchly proud of his Irish heritage, is delivering the keynote address at the midday gathering, which Irish Taoiseach Leo Varadkar will also attend. Varadkar met with Biden in the Oval Office on Friday after having breakfast with Vice President Kamala Harris, her husband, Doug Emhoff, and Varadkar’s partner, Matthew Barrett.
The Irish leader visiting the White House on St. Patrick’s Day is a cherished presidential tradition conducted to promote strong U.S.-Ireland ties.
