Shalanda Young, the director of the Office of Management and Budget, is set to testify before the Senate budget committee about President Joe Biden’s proposed annual budget.
Biden published his proposed budget for the next fiscal year last week, which cuts the deficit by $3 trillion dollars in the next 10 years but would also increase spending across nearly all parts of the government. Biden’s plan would also raise taxes on corporations and high income citizens.

The $6.9 trillion in proposed spending will likely be under intense scrutiny from senators on the committee. Congress has until the end of September, when the 2023 fiscal year ends, to pass a budget for the 2024 fiscal year.
