Actor Mark Wahlberg contributes his success to a strict routine that begins long before sunrise each day and with prayer.

Wahlberg lives near Las Vegas with his wife, Rhea Durham, and their four children — Ella, 19; Michael, 16; Brendan, 14; and Grace, 12. In addition to his acting career, he is a businessman who shares his journey of overseeing clothing line Municipal, gym chain F45, and restaurant franchise Wahlburgers on the HBO Max series Wahl Street.

The actor told the Wall Street Journal that he finds he is most productive waking up around 3:30 a.m.

“Being consistent with my routine,” Wahlberg said. “Getting the right amount of rest, really staying focused. My spirituality, my faith has got to be the center of it all.”

“I always start with a little bit of prayer time,” the actor added. “And then take my vitamins. I used to eat breakfast. Now I’m all about intermittent fasting. I don’t eat; I just go work out.”

Wahlberg said there are days he breaks his fasts and eats in the afternoon. He also said he goes to bed around 7:30 p.m.

“I always get eight hours. I’ll come home and I’ll be like, ‘Hey, I think I’m going to go to bed early,’ and [my wife] will be like, “You don’t have to tell me that. The one night you decide to stay up late, tell me that,’” Wahlberg joked.

The actor noted that dedication has carried him through the highs and lows of his career.

“You’ve just gotta keep going, you’ve gotta keep working,” Wahlberg said. “Leave no stone unturned. Don’t expect somebody else to figure it out. You’ve just got to be in it for the long haul.”
