King Charles to pay employees 600 pounds toward ‘cost of living’ raise: Report

King Charles III will be giving the staff of the various royal residences up to 600 pounds (equivalent to over $710) out of his own pocket to combat the “cost of living crisis.”
An inside source reported to The Sun that the one-time raise will be distributed at a sliding scale. It will likely cost the British monarch some tens of thousands of dollars total out of his own earnings rather than from tax dollars.
“The king is giving money out of his own pocket to the lowest earners working for the household to help them cope with the cost of living crisis,” the source reported. “The king is very much aware of the soaring energy bills people are facing and worried about the economic wellbeing of loyal palace staff and doing what he can.”

Those who make less than $35,000 will receive the highest amount, roughly $710, while the next bracket, those who make less than $47,350, will receive about $475, and those with less than $57,270 will get $415. These payments will apply to to some 592 staff across Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, Balmoral Castle, and Clarence House.
