Arizona hazmat leak: Second incident prompts shelter-in-place after highway crash

The Arizona Department of Public Safety issued another shelter-in-place order over a hazmat leak on the highway.

The department said anyone within a 1-mile perimeter of I-10 and Houghton/Rita should turn off their heaters and air conditioning system.

The leak stems from a truck tractor that rolled over on a highway in Tucson, Arizona, at around 7 p.m. on Tuesday, killing the driver and spilling nitric acid. The first shelter-in-place order was lifted at 8:45 p.m.

This is breaking and will be updated.
