First Lady Jill Biden has striven to serve all Americans for the last two years, but on Super Bowl Sunday, she’ll be channeling her inner “Philly girl.”

Dubbed an “obnoxious” Philadelphia Eagles fan by her husband, President Joe Biden, the first lady will travel to State Farm Stadium in Arizona to cheer on the Eagles against the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl LVII matchup.

Her husband will be rooting for them too, not just because he wants to, but because if he doesn’t, he will be “sleeping alone.”

“I’m Jill Biden’s husband. She’s a Philly girl so the first thing I’m going to say is Go Eagles, Fly Eagles Fly,” the president quipped at a recent fundraiser. “Now the good news is, I happen to mean it. But even if I didn’t, I’d say it. You know why? Otherwise, I’d be sleeping alone.”

“You all think I’m kidding,” Biden said in response to laughter. “No, those are no joke. No, I am not kidding.”

Ahead of the game, the first lady took to Twitter to cheer on the Eagles, donning the signature midnight green Eagles uniform interlaced with the Biden name and No. 46 in a nod to President Biden.

When the first lady joins the jubilant crowd of Eagles fans in Arizona, the president will be holed up tending to the nation’s business — something he has shown envy over.

“By the way, Chief Justice, I might need a court order. She gets to go to the game next week, I have to stay home,” the president lamented in jest during his State of the Union address.

Eagles fans are notorious for the lengths they go through to honor the birds. The Eagles briefly established a jail at their home stadium, Lincoln Financial Field, to deal with unruly fans who would take things too far.

Die-hard disciples of the Eagles have also been known to riot and authorities have been forced to grease poles in the past, though that does not appear to have slowed down Eagles fans from trying to climb them. Even the president admits Eagles fans take their team very seriously.

“Philadelphia fans are the most informed, most obnoxious fans in the world. They know everything, you know what I mean?” Biden, who was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, said.

Born in Hammonton, New Jersey, the first lady moved to a suburb of Philadelphia during her youth and quickly became indoctrinated in the ways of the Eagles’ fandom, though there is no evidence she has taken her fandom quite as far as some of the real fanatics.

She previously attended the Eagles Super Bowl match against the New England Patriots in 2018, where her team bested the Patriots 41 to 33. Now she is hoping for a repeat.

In a break from Super Bowl tradition, President Biden will not sit for an interview, after negotiations between Fox and the White House collapsed.

“The President was looking forward to an interview with Fox Soul to discuss the Super Bowl, the State of the Union, and critical issues impacting the everyday lives of Black Americans. We’ve been informed that Fox Corp has asked for the interview to be canceled,” White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre tweeted.
