Hall of Famer and three-time Super Bowl champion Michael Irvin filed a lawsuit on Thursday seeking $100 million against a female employee accusing him of misconduct at an Arizona hotel.
The allegation saw Irvin pulled from his role in Super Bowl coverage from both the NFL Network and ESPN, and the Dallas Cowboys legend is accusing the management and staff of the Renaissance hotel in Glendale of “railroading” him into becoming a “cancel culture” victim, according to a report.

“Rash and thoughtless actions can have severe consequences,” the suit reads.
“Marriott [parent company of Renaissance Hotels] apparently did not appreciate these simple truths when, in a rush to judgment, its employees and management inaccurately and inflammatorily accused Mr. Irvin of misconduct to the National Football League.”
Irvin, 56, said his interaction with the woman was brief and that he engaged in no physical contact other than a handshake.
“Honestly, I’m a bit baffled with it all,” Irvin said earlier this week. “This all happened in a 45-second conversation in the lobby. When I got back after going out … I came into the lobby, and I talked to somebody. I talked to this girl. I don’t know her, and I talked to her for about 45 seconds.”
“We shook hands. Then, I left. … That’s all I know.”

Exact details regarding the woman’s accusations have not been confirmed, but the three-time Super Bowl champion will not be seen in any further coverage of Sunday’s big game, the report noted.
“Michael Irvin will not be part of the NFL Network’s Super Bowl LVII week coverage,” NFL Media Vice President of Communications Alex Riethmiller said in a statement.
Irvin was also slated to appear on Friday’s edition of ESPN’s First Take, but a release from the network says he will no longer appear on the program, the report noted.
Levi McCathern, Irvin’s attorney, argued the Hall of Famer’s reputation has been severely harmed and that a large sum of money was lost as a result of the accusations against Irvin.
“It is clear Michael is the latest victim of our cancel culture where all it takes is an accusation to ruin a person’s life,” according to McCathern.

“Michael looks forward to clearing his name in court and hopes the court of public opinion will see the truth come out as well.”
